In the Yoruba and Bini languages of West Africa, Oba means “royalty”. The Oba Essentials brand was created by a Licensed Esthetician to make body care products that make everyone feel like royalty. Indulge in the luxurious feel of our body care products made with simple, high-quality ingredients that provide moisture and hydration to skin and body.

Made with love and without petrolatum, mineral oil, alcohol, parabens , or silicones.

 

 About the Owner

Oba Essentials is the creation of skincare lover and Licensed Esthetician, Erin Thomas. Erin’s passion for making body care products grew out of the need to moisturize her natural hair at a time (circa 2007) that store-bought natural hair care options were very limited for women with kinky, coily hair. After researching the benefits of natural butters and oils for the hair and skin, she started to create products to maintain her own hair and found that she could use them to moisturize her skin as well.

In 2016, Erin’s interest in researching ingredients and creating products led her to pursue a license in esthetics in order to better understand ingredients and how they interact with one another to provide benefits to skin and hair. She set out to perfect her body care recipes over the next two years to share with the world, and the Oba Essentials brand was born in 2018.
